About the Artist (in his words):

My passion outside care-giving is photography. I like to photograph abstract architecture and abstract nature subject matter. I love to create images that most people do not see and usually miss because they are looking at the whole picture instead of a small part of it. I am currently caring for my wife of 32 years. Her name is Jendy and she is the most amazing women in the world. She is my soul mate and best friend. She is my world. She is the only woman I have been with my entire adult life. I have been her primary 24×7 caregiver since 2006 when she almost died from E. coli in her blood stream. Jendy is on Hospice with respiratory failure and congestive heart failure. She is confined to a hospital bed in our living room, has a trach with constant oxygen and uses a ventilator when she sleeps. She continues to outlive all expectations. She is the reason I keep going.

About the Artist (in her words):

I care for my partner, who has multiple sclerosis that acts like traumatic brain injury. In addition to fulfilling my own creative need, my art involves my caree, who enjoys pointing out the chance for photo ops on our outings.

Most of the butterflies in this collage live at the Florida Museum of Natural History and Butterfly Rainforest in Gainesville. We visited the museum following a difficult appointment at the Shands medical center. I photographed the small white butterfly, statue, and sunset in our neighborhood.
